Gorse (burnt and probably dead)

Always flowering and so kissing is always in season. On a warm day the flowers smell deliciously of coconut and later in the summer on a hot day if you stand still and listen you can hear the sound of seed pods crack as they burst open, flinging the seeds as far as they can. Was once of value and harvested for setting fires particularly in the Alum industry and it still grows in some profusion in the quarry at Boulby Cliffs. Also on top of the cliff between Marske and Saltburn in quantity.
