Japanese Rose (white form)

Found in carmine, pink and white flowered versions along the seafront at Marske and elsewhere along the coast near to the sea. This alien rose has long since escaped the garden and established itself in the wild not least because the seeds in the large fat red hips get eaten by birds. Heavily scented flowers too, so worth a sniff if you spot them.
