Allium vineale

Quite a scarce plant in the Tees Valley although I suspect that is partly because it is quite difficult to spot when growing, as it blends in very well with the long grass in which it normally grows. However, where it does grow there is usually plenty of it as it spreads quickly from the bulbils that grow in the flower heads every year and down south where it is common it can be a bit of an agricultural weed.
