Aquilegia vulgaris

If you grow this perennial in the garden you will know how many seeds it can produce and so it’s not hard to imagine how easily it might spread out in the wild somewhere. I’m always surprised there isn’t more of it. There is a very attractive dark blue native form but I’ve not seen it growing naturally in the Tees Valley.
