Daucus carota

Amazingly this is the wild version of the orange carrot you eat, although its root is white and a bit tough and fibrous. You can find its white flowers dotted along the coast generally on bare-ish grassy places – look for a central dark red floret in the middle – and, if you get the chance later in the year, the seed heads are pretty amazing too. Biennial.
