Smyrnium olusatrum

There’s masses of this down at South Gare just next to the roadside but before the Fishermens Huts. It can grow inland though it tends to have a coastal distribution. Introduced into the UK by Romans and then fell out of favour when we all started growing celery in the 15th Century. Also, the seeds can be used as a pepper substitute.
